The Crown and Cushion in Great Gransden will be hosting kindly another Gamlingay Records acoustic night on Wednesday 12 December – see you there from 20:30.

Bring Mistletoe, a Christmas Crackers and be ready to join in with the odd Christmas tune to start the season off with a bang.

10 bands. Loads of live music. A great atmosphere. A legendary competition. This year’s Gamlingay Records Battle of the Bands takes place on Monday 4th June, Jubilee weekend at the Gamlingay EcoHub.

Tickets are only £5 each on the door. That is only 50p per band!

Prizes include a recording session, photo shoots and others….

The order of play will be decided by drawing out of a hat at the start of the night… so make sure you get there for the start or you might miss the band you want to win….

Doors open 4:30. First band on stage at 5:30. There will be food and drink on sale in the EcoHub. No drugs or alcohol to be brought into the venue….

Full steam ahead. Final confirmation that the 5th incarnation of this legendary band competition will take place on Monday 4th June 2012 at Gamlingay’s ground-breaking new Eco-Hub.

If you want to be one of the 10 bands on the bill, fill in the application form below and send it to us. You’ll need a CD or link to some examples of your music and you must be available to play on the 4th June.

This year will be a big year for the Gamlingay Records signed The Elephant in the Room. They’re working hard on their debut EP, photo shoot and music video.

As soon as they’re ready, we’ll post it up here.

After a great deal of pressure from the landlord, we have agreed to restart the legendary acoustic nights at the Crown and Cushion in Great Gransden.

February 8th will be the first of the new gigs.

All are welcome. Acoustic instruments are the norm,  but styles range from folk to punk, with even some classical thrown in sometimes. If you want a slot, talk to Phil. Usually acts are limited to 3 songs or 15 minutes, but it depends how many want to play.
