Who We Are

Gamlingay Records are an independant record label whose aim is to develop and market young unsigned bands and artists in the South Cambridgeshire area of the UK. We were established by a group of young people supported by professional volunteers and the local community development charity Forward Gamlingay!

Where We Came From

In 2007 Forward Gamlingay! ran a Battle of the Bands Competition. Many of the young people participating took part in a follow up seminar and out of this developed the idea of establishing a Community Record Label in collaboration with Forward Gamlingay!

The Forward Gamlingay! organisation is a registered charity, and is run by volunteers who live, work and organise many activities in the village. We are driven by a vision of how much better Gamlingay could be if it had a co-ordinated set of community facilities and activities for ourselves, our children and our young people to use and enjoy. Much has been achieved since its inception in 2003 and with concerted team effort we know we can build on this success and make Gamlingay a better place to live for everyone.

Who Funds Us

In April 2008 Awards for All awarded Forward Gamlingay! £9700 to run a Community Record Label for 12 months. Since then we have gone on to raise funds in a number of different ways including CD sales and live events.
